I spent most of my morning working on a service with the crew. Spent most of my lunch dropping a guy off at the airstrip. After lunch I helped some guys scatter a few poles. I think we will be pikeing some of them in tomorrow afternoon. The pole hole diggers are hired by the pole hole. I was dropping them off this morning and they got into a argument because there were not enough digging sets to go around. They are going at it in arabic, and I cannot make out what is going on, so finally I just set them down and went and got Jacob so he could settle the beef and get them to work--what a mess!!

There was an incident today when a Dinka guy in a car hit a Toposa guy on a motorcycle.  I don't how bad of a wreck it was, but the town was crawling with cops again. I guess they were stopping a lot of people and checking their drivers licence.  Since I keep mine in a safe here at the house, everyone thought I should get it in case I was stopped.  I was not stopped, but I guess the cops are famous for demanding money if they find something wrong. I was told they would demand 40 pounds if caught without a seatbelt on.

The first two pictures are of some old guys who were sitting outside the shop where we were installing power.  They started to holler when they saw me.  At first I didn't know what to think and then the shop owner said they wanted money from me. So I took the pictures and gave them 10 pounds, about 3 dollars. The next picture is of me helping to install  the service in the shop. The last one is of one the guard here at the house.
